Hamming Die Punch are used to flatten or hem a part after a 30-degree bend has been made. All of tooling product lines offer a solution to make the 30-degree bend and hem all in one handling. If necessary, a special tool set can create a gaped hem, in which the hem is not fully flattened against the sheet, but leaves space between them.
The Chamunda Engineering Works brand of indian Planed (or “conventional”) tooling is a lower cost option for customers whose applications do not require the tolerance and finish found in precision tooling. Planed tooling is commonly sold in longer, solid lengths of 8–16 ft and built to a tolerance of +/– .1mm verses precision ground, which is built to +/– .01mm. However, specified lengths are available by request.

As needed, planed tooling can be surface ground to improve the punch tip or the v-opening of a die. Planer ground tooling will save you time in setups due to consistent centerlines. The improved surface finishes will reduce sheet marking.
